Clean up your (dessert) act
As I sat reflecting after the first of the Christm
as Party Barbecues, I realised how much we tend to
overdo things. We'd opened with simple , flavourf
ul prawns - and enjoyed pork, ham & turkey plus se
veral salads. But the class act to close was a si
mply elegant fruit plate. Just mango, rockmelon, w
atermelon, white grapes, orange slices and lush ch
erries. Bewdiful! Give me the simple life.
Bottom of the Bottle.
Just a couple of little Wine Briefs from that same
barbecue. Sampled Fox Gordon wines for the first
time - a Shiraz Tempranillo - full and firm and fr
esh. Value at $20 from Vintage Cellars. Also, the
respected D'Arenberg "The Footbolt Shiraz" – which
shot to the top of my rankings for Best Fruitiest
First Mouthful Red Wine - and went on to finish s
uperbly too. CHECK MORE WINES HERE - Click on Grap
